I bought a rain jacket (not a waterproof one) from Sonam that costs Rs10k but was very disappointed when I found it couldn't even handle a little rain. I went to the store who put me through to a manager who couldn't make a decision so she said she would get back to me. After not hearing back for a few days, I rang her. I was then told the company was unable to do a refund or exchange even though it was still within the warranty period. Their reason for it was the jacket was bought at a discounted price hence the warranty didn't apply. Regardless, if a product is defective and does not perform the way it is intended to, isn't it fair that a big company like Sonam do the right thing and refund? I thought I would support a local company but never again Sonam after this experience. I was lucky I found this out before going on a trek otherwise it would have been a disaster!

Sharp mouth and cold attitude of staffs at Sonam Dharan!

As a customer, I’ve always supported Sonam even when others called it overrated. But after today, I see their point. I bought a jacket for my dad during their sale, but the sizing was completely off. It didn’t fit anyone in the family, so I went to the outlet just to exchange it for a different size. I wasn’t asking for a refund, just a simple swap. But even that wasn’t allowed. The staff were polite, but bound by a rigid policy that makes no room for genuine customer concerns. Refusing a size exchange on an unworn item, especially when the exact product is still in stock, is baffling. Why have a no-exchange policy on sale items at all? Is the priority clearing stock, regardless of whether the customer can actually use the product? The jacket was of no use to me, so I left it at the store without a refund. If this is how Sonam chooses to treat customers, they won’t stay for long. They kept the money, but lost a customer.

I’m extremely frustrated with the jacket. It started developing lint almost immediately, which is ridiculous for something that’s supposed to be durable. The fabric quality is awful, and it now looks like an old, abused jacket instead of a new one. I feel completely cheated and would never recommend this brand. I went to the lakeside store and inform the staff about the bad quality of the jacket and she said they had been getting alot of complain about the quality of the jacket which i brought . She even mentioned that i should inform the manager about the issue. Its very disappointing to face such issues on jacket even after paying such a huge amount .
